The WorldForum 2009 Programme Planning Committee invites researchers, NGOs, professionals, organizations, government institutions/officials,universities, practitioners, service providers, young people and other interested parties to submit abstract proposals for oral presentations, and poster presentations.

Each year the International Forum for Child Welfare IFCW (www.ifcw.org) holds an international conference known as the WorldForum, which is co-hosted, by one of its member organisations. Last year, WorldForum 2008 brought 350 delegates from around the world together in Cardiff from 30 different countries attended. The 20th WorldForum will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia and being co-hosted by Indonesian Child Welfare Foundation(www.ykai.org) and supported by government of Indonesia. The broad theme of the WorldForum 2009 is “Toward a Safer and Better World by Realizing the Rights of the Child”. Please see the home page of our website for an explanation of what we mean by this.

Can I make a submission?
We encourage contributions
From NGOs, professionals, organizations, government institutions/officials, pratitioners and academics in a range of disciplines including health, mental health, education, social services, youth justice, social policy, voluntary sector and others as appropriate, young people
Which cover the Conference theme from the point of view of developing countries as well as advanced economies


Do I have to pay?
There is no fee for making a submission. If your submission is accepted for presentation then you will be required to pay a registration fee. Further infomation will be sent to you when we contact you about your submission.

Topic of presentations:
“Toward a Safer and Better World by Realizing the Rights of the Child”


The Conference subthemes are to share information/knowledge in more details or based on research findings relating to:
"Effective Future Community Leadership in developing a Safer and Better World"
“Child’s Rights and MDGs (7 & 8)”
“ASEAN Charter and ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community”
“Changing Environmental Threats into Opportunities for a Better World”
“The Rights of Migrant Worker’s Children” – Panel Discussion
“Strengthening Family and Community Empowerment”
“Media as a Partner in Promoting and Protecting Child Rights”
“Resource Mobilization to Realize the Right of the Child”
“Developing and Strengthening Partnership to Realize the Rights of the Child”


All abstracts will be considered on the basis of individual merit by the Programme Planning Committee and will be appraised according to the following criteria:

Relevance for the Worldforum 2009 sub-theme
Innovativeness of the proposed subject material
Importance of the content to a multidisciplinary audience
Clarity of the proposed presentation material


Conference papers will be organized into panel sessions of one-hour, each comprising three 15-minutes papers and time for discussion. Presentation can bid for an hour slot to run the whole panel session or present for fifteen minutes only.


SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
1. Download the on-line registration form on the website www.worldforum-2009.org
2. Email your abstract to submissionabstract@yahoo.co.id by July 14, 2009. Please save your abstract to your computer before submission.
3. Applicants must identify their preferred presentation format and length of presentation but the Programme Planning Committee will make the final decision as to the format for abstracts
